On Sunday 5 May, hundreds of the Carlton Football Club’s newest supporters attended their first game of Australian football at the MCG.

International students and newly arrived migrant students from all over the world helped cheer for the Blues as part of the “I AM New Blue” program.

The ‘I AM New Blue’ program aims to help students understand Melbourne’s unique football culture in a fun, inclusive and social environment. It is hoped that this program can aid their integration in local communities and enrich their educational experience in Australia.

Over 500 students from 83 different countries thoroughly enjoyed the event and, by the end of the game, were joining in with the crowd and cheering along with our most loyal members.

We hope that for some of these students it will be the start of a lifelong affiliation with the Club and Australia’s game.
