Carlton Captain Marc Murphy has welcomed some international guests to Visy Park.
Atang Moshoeshoe from Cape Town and Dan Msize from Durban have been given a tour of Carlton's training facilities as part of the AFL's South African Geminder Youth Academy.
Murphy is an ambassador for the program, which provides opportunities for South Africa's talented youth to develop new skills in Australian Rules Football.
Now in it's second year, South Africans between the ages of 14 and 17 are invited to participate in talent camps, with the possibility of representing their province at a national level.
The academy is named in honour of Raphael Geminder, Carlton Board Member and Honorary Consul to South Africa in Melbourne.
The program also awards scholarships to a selected few to travel to Australia, to represent South Africa in the World Team in the NAB AFL Under 16 Championships.
This year, the World Team claimed the Division 3 title, under the guidance of former Carlton great Anthony Koutoufides.
Carlton's Multicultural Partnership Coordinator Ned Murphy, says the Blues are committed to engaging people and communities from all ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds.
"We see Marc's ambassador role for AFL South Africa and the Geminder Youth Academy and Scholarship Program as a fantastic way to provide young people in South Africa with an opportunity to connect with our great game.
"It's a program the Club is very proud to be associated with."
