Andrew Carrazzo has continued spreading the message about healthy living to school students, as part of his ambassador role with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

Carrazzo has visited Xavier College’s Burke Hall Campus where he addressed the entire junior school from prep through to grade four.

The Carlton vice-captain told students about a typical day in the life of an AFL player, and encouraged them to take part in the MCRI’s Step-a-thon which is happening in the first week of September.

The MCRI’s Manager of Corporate and Community Engagement Cale Wilkinson says Step-a-thon aims to raise money for child health research while getting kids active.

“Murdoch Childrens is really grateful for Andrew and Carlton Football Club’s tremendous support of Step-a-thon. It was fantastic to see Andrew inspire young kids about the lifelong benefits of getting active and making every step count.”

Meanwhile Xavier’s Dean of Early Years Elena Serraglio says Carrazzo’s talk resonated with the children.

"Students shared in the discussions about the importance of making balanced choices in their daily lives and routines in order to live a healthy lifestyle,” Serraglio said.

"The work the Murdoch Childrens' Research Institute carries out helped the children to understand their role in supporting such organisations as part of our shared responsibility to humanity.”
