In another successful year, the Visy Enviromaniacs program has already reached 20 Primary Schools and over 1000 students, sharing Visy’s message of sustainability. The program is set to reach another 10-15 schools in term 3, with Carlton’s Environmental Ambassadors excited to engage with students.

For the first time, in conjunction with the YMCA, the Enviromaniacs program is continuing through the school holidays. There are two clinics being held during the July school holiday period, with a ‘super clinic’ being held in the second week attracting up to 200 students enrolled in YMCA’s holiday programs.

The program continues to provide a great opportunity for primary school students to engage with some of their heroes at the club, while enjoying an educational experience at Visy Park. There has been a great variety of students visit the program and the Environmental Ambassadors have enjoyed sharing ideas with students from a range of cultures and ages.

The aim of the program is to demonstrate to primary aged students, through open discussion and active engagement, how they can leave a positive environmental footprint. Students are encouraged to share their ideas and participate in some physical activities at Visy Park, which promote putting these ideas into action and living a healthy and active lifestyle.
