THE Carlton Football Club has received picks Nos. 57 and 70 from Essendon in exchange for ruckman Andrew Phillips and draft picks Nos.61 and 72.
The 28-year-old managed 27 games in four seasons for the Blues since arriving at Ikon Park in 2015.
This trade comes after the Club acquired ruckman Marc Pittonet from Hawthorn earlier today.
Carlton GM of List Management and Strategy Stephen Silvagni expressed the Club’s gratitude for Phillips’ contribution over the last four years.
“Once Andrew made the decision to leave the football club we began to look at options that were suitable for all parties,” Silvagni said.
“With Andrew coming out of contract we were happy to facilitate a trade that allowed him to continue his playing career while it also saw us acquire picks Nos.57 and 70 in the upcoming draft."
Andrew was a great person to have at our football club and we wish him nothing but the best for the future.
