Carlton Football Club is delighted to unveil its new charitable arm, the Blues Foundation. 

In partnership with La Trobe University and Our Watch, the Blues Foundation will work with diverse communities to create and deliver signature programs, challenge social exclusion and strengthen communities.

Prominent Carlton supporter and comedian Tegan Higginbotham, as well as anti-violence campaigners Kristy McKellar and Tarang Chawla are proud new ambassadors of the Blues Foundation.

Under the Blues Foundation umbrella, there will be two key community programs, including ‘CARLTON RESPECTS’ and ‘Resilient Young People’. The Blues Foundation will also endeavour to raise awareness and take action in relation to gender equality for the prevention of violence against women (CARLTON RESPECTS), and the prevention of social exclusion of young people (Resilient Young People).

Carlton CEO Steven Trigg said the development of the Blues’ new charitable community foundation was in line with the Club’s overarching objective to be inclusive and united. 

“The development of this new program was formed with the underlying objective to strive to be leaders in community engagement and social impact,” Trigg said.

“As a club, the launch of this Foundation goes back to one of our key broader club pillars of creating a sense of belonging for not only our members and supporters, but those in the community, particularly throughout Victoria’s northern corridor. 

“We have taken a very genuine approach to the development of these prevention programs, particularly through our CARLTON RESPECTS program which was launched in 2016.

“We know that as a football club, we can make a difference.  are very much in the frame as social influences. Unfortunately, we also know there are alarming statistics around family violence in Australia and that the primary prevention of family violence starts through improved awareness about gender equality.

Programs are developed and delivered by trained Carlton staff, in conjunction with La Trobe University and Our Watch through schools in the northern corridor of Victoria.  Donations to the program will enable the expansion and development of new initiatives for the Blues Foundation.
