Carlton captain Marc Murphy is keen to move on from the sledging drama that erupted this week after speaking with leaders at St Kilda, saying all parties were ready to put the episode behind them.
Murphy fronted media cameras on Tuesday for the first time since Saturday's clash with the Saints and said the past few days had been difficult for his family.
The Carlton captain was forced to respond to offensive social media commentary that escalated after the Saints' sledging at the weekend.
"It's been a pretty tough time for probably my family more so than me," Murphy said outside the club's Ikon Park base.
"I issued a statement last night and I'm pretty keen to move on and look forward to playing some footy this weekend.
"We've been through a little bit over the last few days.
"St Kilda footy club have been good in getting in contact with me, and I think both parties are pretty keen to move forward."

St Kilda and Carlton have each been asked by the AFL to make submissions on the melee that erupted just before three-quarter time in Saturday's clash.
The League has given the clubss seven days and will issue fines, either to the clubs or individual players, once they have made submissions.
