After registering six wins, the Blues finished the season in 16th place on the ladder.
Despite falling four points short of its 2016 output, Carlton won more quarters in 2017, demonstrating the growth of the playing group in its second year with Bolton at the helm.
With the team now on a break, we’re analysing each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for forward Levi Casboult.

OVERVIEW
Casboult’s hard work over the pre-season paid off in 2017, with the powerful forward playing all 22 matches and booting 34 goals this season.
His reliable hands were once again a feature of his game, with the 27-year-old finishing third in the competition for contested marks.

He was awarded Carlton’s Mark of the Week twice, in Rounds 13 and 17, while he was also nominated for the AFL’s Mark of the Year in Round 18 against Brisbane. Launching over a pack of players, including his teammate Charlie Curnow, Casboult took the contested mark above his head.
Not only did the No. 41 consistently take trademark grabs, but he also hit the scoreboard. On 11 ocassions this season, Casboult kicked two or more goals in a match. Combining his clean hands and composed set-shots, Casboult kicked Carlton’s Goal of the Week in the Blues’ uplifting victory against Hawthorn.
The forward was rewarded for his consistent season, signing a new two-year deal with the Blues at the beginning of September.
BEST PERFORMANCE
In Round 16 against Melbourne, Casboult had extremely sticky fingers, taking a game-high six contested marks and hitting the scoreboard with a goal.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Casboult kicked a skillful goal against Collingwood in Round 7 to put the Blues five goals up in the third quarter. After competing in the ruck contest in Carlton’s right-forward pocket, Casboult received a sneaky handball from Sam Petrevski-Seton and snapped the major on his left foot.
