Today the Blues were joined by a very special young Bluebagger, Callum Judd.
Callum, who is just six years old, was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in 2014 and while an aggressive form of chemotherapy was initially successful in treating the disease, Callum’s cancer returned in December 2016.
Following a radio interview with 3AW’s Neil Mitchell in June, where Callum's mum Claire revealed the battle that her son was fighting, Callum and his family were invited into Carlton’s inner sanctum to give the youngster a chance to meet his beloved Blues - and what a day he had!
Alongside former Blues champion Chris Judd, who returned to the Club for the prep student’s visit, Callum enjoyed a kick with the players and watched them in action on the training track.
To make his trip to the Club even more memorable, captain Marc Murphy treated Callum to a pair of his own match-worn boots to accompany his brand new Carlton guernsey which was signed by the entire playing group.
While the six-year-old undergoes treatment for his agressive cancer, his family is raising funds to ensure he has the best chance at winning his fight. You can support them by making a donation to their Go Fund Me page.
