CARLTON Football Club has today finalised its AFLW list for the 2018 season, after recruiting outside midfielders Tiahna Cochrane, Katie-Jane Grieve and Courtney Webb in the NAB AFLW Rookie Draft.
Consisting of 27 primary-listed players and three rookies, the trio completes the 30-player squad.
As the great niece of the Blues’ Team of the Century member Trevor Keogh, Cochrane already has a close connection to the Club. After an outstanding season for Bendigo Thunder, she was awarded the Northern Football League’s Coaches Player of the Year in the women’s competition.
Hailing from Bunbury in Western Australia, Grieve made a real impact in her first season, finishing second in her league’s best and fairest and making the Team of the Year.
Meanwhile, Tasmania-born Webb is both a talented footballer and cricketer. The all-round athlete represented the Allies at the under-18 national championships this season and starred in the midfield.

AFLW senior coach Damien Keeping said he was thrilled to select three skilful players and finalise Carlton’s list.
“We’re really delighted to welcome Tiahna, Katie-Jane and Courtney to the Blues – all three are terrific athletes and high-quality people, so it’s a great result for our club,” Keeping said.
“Tiahna already has a special connection with Carlton so I know she’ll take great pride pulling on the navy blue jumper next year.
“For Katie to come runner-up in her league’s best and fairest in only her first season is a real credit to her, while Courtney has a real passion for the contest and uses the ball exceptionally well.
“After another thorough recruiting process, we’re excited our list is finally complete and we’re looking forward to getting everyone together so we can get stuck into our second pre-season.”
Carlton has welcomed 11 new players to the Club since the end of last season. In addition to the three rookies, Tayla Harris and Nicola Stevens were secured during the trade period, Maddison Gay and Kerryn Harrington were recruited as rookies (and have since been upgraded to the primary list), while Georgia Gee, Sophie Li, Reni Hicks and Bridie Kennedy were recruited in Wednesday’s NAB AFL Women’s National Draft.
Pre-season for Carlton’s AFLW team begins on Tuesday 21 November.
