Carlton Media selects its top-five player stats from the Blues' 81-point loss to Sydney at the SCG on Saturday.
Matthew Kreuzer
Game–high 9 clearances
Matthew Kreuzer capped off a stellar season with another brilliant performance, recording 16 disposals, six inside 50s, 37 hitouts and a goal. He managed to better the likes of Josh Kennedy and Luke Parker in the stoppages, having a game-high nine clearances (five from centre bounces).
Jacob Weitering
Equal game-high 5 intercept marks
Jacob Weitering's intercept work put him in the top-five stats for the second consecutive week. The smart defender took an equal game-high five intercept marks, keeping the Blues in the contest in the first half despite the inside 50s being heavily weighted in the Swans' favour.
Sam Docherty
Game–high 8 rebound 50s
The Blues were under siege all game in defence, conceding 65 inside 50s. They once again turned to Sam Docherty as their outlet, with the reliable defender recording a game-high eight rebound 50s among his 20 disposals.
Kade Simpson
Team–high 544m gained
Carlton's oldest player finished the season with a bang, earning the highest ranking points for the Blues against Sydney. He had 29 disposals, nine marks and seven inside 50s, while his team-high 544m gained were impressive given the smaller confines of the SCG and the Blues' limited possessions.
Sam Kerridge
Team–high 6 tackles
Carlton's pressure wasn't what it needed to be, allowing Sydney too much time and space. Sam Kerridge could hold his head high, however, laying a game-high six tackles among 17 pressure acts. The former Crow was also clean with the footy, with 87.5 per cent of his 16 disposals finding a teammate.
