The Blues’ young playing list was faced with a number of challenges in 2018, and as a result, finished the year with fewer wins than previous seasons.
However, the valuable experience gained by first and second-year players, coupled with the resilience built within the team, will no doubt hold the Club in good stead for years to come.
With the side now on a break, we’re analysing each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for Carlton’s No. 17, Sam Rowe.

2018 IN FOCUS
Rowe made a successful return from a torn ACL in the Blues' Round 5 clash with the Eagles, missing just one game over the remainder of the season to sit one match off a 100-game milestone by season end.
Playing on some of the opponents’ key forwards in an injury-ravaged backline, the reliable defender ranked 11th across the league for one-percenters per game and sixth for time on ground.
BEST PERFORMANCE
The 199cm South Australian kept opponent Jack Hombsh goalless in Carlton’s Round 15 clash with Port Adelaide. He amassed 13 one-percenters, 18 disposals, 12 contested possessions, four marks and 225m gained in his season-best performance.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
The 30-year-old ran down Bulldog Bill Gowers to lay a team-lifting, goal-saving tackle in his second game back.
