The Carlton College of Sport is a unique learning program offering a Higher Education Diploma in Sport Coaching and Development in collaboration with La Trobe – Australia’s leading university for sport.
Based at Ikon Park, the one-year course will give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in practical work experience within an elite sports environment, giving them the best chance of securing employment in the sport industry.

Stephen Silvagni - the AFL’s Full Back of the Century and Carlton’s current GM of List Management and Strategy - is one such identity.
Silvagni will be a program presenter for a cornerstone subject of the Diploma, Talent Identifcation and Game Development.
“I’ve been involved in AFL football for over 30 years as a player, coach and administrator and I’m really looking forward to sharing my experiences with the students from the Carlton College of Sport”, Silvagni said.
“My role as a Carlton College of Sport presenter is really to bring my knowledge and experience of recruiting, list management and also talent identification… to give the students a real insight into what it’s like to work in these areas in elite sport.”
