Young guns Charlie Curnow and Jacob Weitering are expected to be fully fit for the commencement of Carlton’s upcoming pre-season campaign.
The pair were both sidelined in the third quarter against Adelaide during the Blues’ last game of the season, with knee and concussive concerns respectively.
The Club later confirmed Curnow had sustained minor medial ligament damage in his left knee and would not require surgery.
In the Blues’ final Injury Update for the 2018 season, new Head of Football Brad Lloyd said the pair would be available for the start of the pre-season in November.
“Charlie suffered that medial ligament sprain and he is currently in a brace at the moment, but the good news is he will be ready to go for the start of the pre-season,” Lloyd said.
“Jacob suffered that head knock in the third quarter of the game. There won’t be lingering issues from that so he’ll also be right to go for the pre-season campaign.”
Meanwhile, Matthew Kennedy and Jarrod Garlett have both undergone successful surgeries on their ankle and shoulder concerns respectively, with the pair also expected to be available for pre-season come November.
“Matt recently had surgery on that troublesome ankle. He’ll have a break now and rest up, and is expected to be fully fit and ready for pre-season which is great news,” Lloyd said.
“Similar to Matt, Jarrod is recovering from surgery on his shoulder. When the playing group returns in November, he’ll be fit to join in for training too.”
