THE Blues’ VFLW side notched up its third win of the season on Sunday, defeating Williamstown by 29 points at Ikon Park.

Darcy Vescio starred with four goals in her return, while Natalie Plane racked up 12 disposals and laid 10 tackles.

VFLW senior coach Shannon McFerran assesses the performances of our AFLW-listed players.

Sarah Hosking
Stats:
11 disposals, 9 tackles
From the coach:
Sarah was instrumental in her return (from time off) for the Blues in our win over Williamstown. Her attack at the football was relentless and her work around the stoppages created plenty of opportunity all over the ground. Her leadership on field was invaluable and she was able to play a number of roles throughout the game.

Darcy Vescio
Stats:
4 goals, 14 disposals
From the coach:
Darcy also made a strong return, kicking four goals. She created plenty of opportunity up forward and was strong at the contest. Spending some time in the midfield also meant Darcy was able to make an impact at stoppages. We hope to see Darcy spend some more time through the midfield during the season.

Reni Hicks
Stats:
15 disposals, 10 tackles
From the coach:
Reni continues to play a strong defensive role this season. She is developing the ability to run off half-back and is finding more confidence each week. It was a solid game for Reni as she managed to limit her opponent for four quarters.

Nat Plane
Stats:
12 disposals, 10 tackles
From the coach:
Nat has found some consistency in her game over the last few weeks. Another solid performance saw Nat have an influence in the midfield each quarter. She has been great at running and carrying the ball through the midfield and will continue to develop her body work at stoppages.

Gab Pound
Stats:
13 disposals, 10 kicks
From the coach:
It was a great return for Gab after having some time off. Gab spent time down back and also had a run through the midfield. A really solid performance, Gab was able to find form down back and got her hands on the footy in the midfield. She will continue to develop her work rate and her run through the midfield over the next few weeks.
