OPEN training will be a feature of next year as the Carlton Football Club brings its members and supporters along for the ride in 2019.
The majority of training sessions during the school holidays will now be open, giving Bluebaggers of all ages the chance to see their team up close in action during the week as well as every weekend.
In addition to the school holiday sessions, the AFL ‘captain’s run' the day before every game will also be open to members and supporters at Ikon Park.
AFLW training sessions will also be open, with training sessions currently scheduled for Monday and Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings.
While phase two is focused about growing together on-field, another primary focus is continuing to strengthen the bond between the Club and its passionate members and supporters.
In order to do that, members and supporters need to be given more opportunities to engage with their Club and their favourite players.
Carlton CEO Cain Liddle said the open training sessions will be a great opportunity for the entire Club to be part of the journey in 2019.
“Phase two is not just about growing together on-field but even more importantly, growing together off it as well,” Liddle said.
“That includes our players, coaches, staff, members and supporters feeling connected – we want to experience phase two as one, united football club.

“There is a terrific sense of excitement among us all for what lies ahead and we want to make sure we continue to make sure our members and supporters are right there with us every step of the way.
“Thanks also to those 41,059 members who have already joined for 2019, a new Club membership record pre-Christmas, and more than 5,000 members ahead of the same time last year."
Open training dates have been confirmed for the upcoming home-and-away season. Start times will be released closer to the date.
Training times beyond Round 23 will be communicated once the training schedule is confirmed.
Throwing open the doors at Ikon Park will ensure the entire Carlton family can share what promises to be this next, exciting phase of development together.
