MORE than 200 guests attended the Club’s third annual Carlton IN Business Sydney event, presented by Virgin Australia and CUA.
Combining business and sport, the function coincided with the Blues’ Friday night match against the Swans and acted as the perfect curtain raiser to kick off Sir Doug Nicholls Round at the SCG.
Fittingly, Carlton champion Chris Judd – a proven athlete and businessman – was a guest speaker at the event, alongside John Nicholls Medallist Sam Docherty and Olympian Melissa Tapper.
As the first Australian to qualify for both the Olympics and Paralympics, Tapper, a Bluebagger and decorated table tennis player, gave a motivational speech while talking about her business aspirations.

Carlton president Mark LoGiudice, who addressed the hundreds of guests in the room, said he was incredibly proud of the Carlton IN Business network.
“I have said on many occasions, that the power of our supporter base is unparalleled to any other in Australian sport,” LoGiudice said.
“The Carlton IN Business network is incredibly diverse, and well-connected in the business community.
“Carlton IN Business offers you unprecedented access to an extraordinary network of industry leaders, and a wide cross section of companies in diverse industries.
“Our Carlton IN Business program was first created to provide a contemporary form of networking for today’s business community and is designed to integrate business networks, cultivate relationships and facilitate genuine opportunities for Australian and global businesses.
“We now have 102 companies in the program across Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland and have most recently established and expanded our network into Tasmania.”
Seven of Carlton’s eight directors were present at the function, while company representatives from AMP, Endeavour Group, The Star and the AFL were also in attendance.
