Ahead of the Blues’ Round 1 blockbuster clash with Richmond at the MCG this evening, Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce a new partnership with Credit Union Australia (CUA).
CUA is Australia’s largest credit union and provides banking, health, motor and home insurance solutions to around 500,000 members across Australia.
As a Platinum Partner of the Club, CUA will feature on the Club’s media backdrop assets as well as match day activations and signage, and will join Virgin Australia as co-naming rights to the esteemed Carlton in Business program.
CEO Cain Liddle welcomed CUA as a valued partner of the Carlton Football Club.
“Not only are we thrilled to be kicking off the 2018 AFL season tonight against Richmond, we are really pleased to welcome CUA as a new partner of our club,” Liddle said.

“Both organisations have a shared sense of passion, innovation and a genuine commitment to making a difference for our members and we look forward to a strong relationship with CUA moving forward.”
“On a personal level, I have been a CUA member for almost 20 years. Across that period CUA have consistently had the best personalised service and competitive products. I can therefore speak very genuinely about CUA’s service and value to their members.”
CUA Chief Executive Officer Rob Goudswaard said partnering with Carlton FC was a good strategic fit for CUA.
“Our organisations have a lot in common, including the rich heritage both member organisations have with local communities. As Australia’s oldest credit union, CUA has been supporting members for 72 years. Meanwhile, Carlton FC has a proud history of over 150 years of involvement in the community,” Mr Goudswaard said.

“We are really focused on the potential for growth in Victoria. We have a strong presence in the state already with 10 branches across Melbourne, Werribee and the Latrobe Valley, as well as a CUA Direct call centre in the Melbourne CBD. We are keen to bring great value banking, health, motor and home insurance to even more Victorians.”

CUA was established in 1946 in Australia, at the time challenging the banking status quo to provide responsible and affordable lending. Through a series of mergers with like-minded credit unions and community groups, CUA has grown to be Australia’s largest credit union, providing banking, health, motor and home insurance to around 500,000 Australians. CUA reinvests back into the business, while deepening relationships with their members to support their financial and health insurance needs.
Carlton Football Club also recently announced a new five-year partnership with La Trobe University, and in late 2017, secured global brands Hyundai and Virgin Australia as joint-major partners of the football club across a five-year commitment.
