YOUNG gun Madison Prespakis has her sights set on making her Carlton debut this Sunday in Hobart.

With AFLW 3.0 to kick off for the Blues this weekend in the Apple Isle, Prespakis couldn’t contain her excitement on the chance to pull on the navy blue jumper for the first time.

Taken with pick No.3 by the Blues in last year’s draft, Prespakis said the fact that her dream could soon become a reality was an exciting prospect.

“I’m really excited for Round 1. To hopefully get selected and play Round 1 against North Melbourne would be a huge honour,” Prespakis said.

“It’ll be a dream come true to play AFL and to run out with everyone… I’m super excited to go to Hobart, hopefully it all goes well.”

Prespakis is no stranger to a number of players who will run out for North Melbourne’s first game, having played alongside a number of them in 2018 for Melbourne Uni in the VFLW.

Now a Blue, the smile couldn’t be wiped off of the youngster’s face when she spoke about her opening months at her new home.

“I think I’ve settled in really well. I’ve got to know all the girls in the group and they’ve welcomed me with open arms,” she said.

“I really feel part of the Blues, I’m so glad I nominated the metropolitan area and I was very fortunate to be picked up by Carlton.

“The girls and staff are wonderful, I’m really excited for the season. The training has gone well and the practice match went well.”

The practice match took place just over a week ago, where Prespakis shone against Geelong.

With her combination of physicality and skill a feature, she hoped she would be able to show off her strengths regularly for the Blues in 2019.

“Being able to put the Blues jumper on and run out with the girls for the first time was the best thing. To see my parents there and my family friends watching made it even better,” she said.

“The practice match definitely opened my eyes, the speed of the game was much faster and I copped a few bruises and knocks here and there.

“I think my aggression is pretty big, I don’t like being beaten around the ball. I think my skills and footy IQ are things I can bring to the Club.”

Sunday’s game against North Melbourne kicks off at 1:05pm from North Hobart Oval.
