BRENDON Bolton has full faith in Charlie Curnow’s ability to make an impact this weekend.
Curnow was in the top-five players on the ground for distance covered in the season opener, but was held to just one goal by Richmond’s defence.
Speaking to media before Carlton’s game against Port Adelaide, the senior coach said if Curnow continued to get to contests, the results would come.
“We just want consistent performances from Charlie. He’s worked incredibly hard over pre-season,” Bolton said.
“Hopefully I can make up for the couple of years where I wasn’t out on the park or wasn’t delivering my best.”

“If you look at the amount of contests he was in, he had his hands on the ball but double-grabbed.
“He never got the output and he was always in the contest — he’s determined this week.”
With a number of players across the competition feeling the heat of the opening round last weekend, Bolton said improvement across the board was expected.
Having kicked four goals against Port Adelaide when the two sides last met, Curnow will be out to produce a big performance on Adelaide Oval alongside Harry McKay and 50-gamer Mitch McGovern.
Bolton said the synergy among the forward line was “the million dollar question”.
“With more time and more experience in the system, it will get better every week,” he said.
“We’re just trying to fast track that and analyse it each week.”
