CARLTON will get forward line boost this Sunday with Darcy Lang set to run out to face Melbourne at the MCG.

The Blues' midfielder gets his opportunity at senior-level as Charlie Curnow sits out the next month with a medial ligament knee injury.

Lang makes his return to the side after an impressive run of form for the Northern Blues saw him finish best afield against Geelong with 25 disposals and seven clearances.

Interim coach David Teague backed in Lang when speaking to media on Friday morning as the Blues pursue back-to-back wins.

In an otherwise unchanged side, the 23-year-old adds another avenue inside 50 for the Blues as they aim to continue the fast and free-flowing offense of their last three outings.

“We probably played him a little bit early a couple of weeks ago and he ended up having four shots on goal,” Teague said.

“He played really well on the weekend, so we’re looking for guys that are playing really well at VFL level to come in and play a role and he’ll play mainly as a forward.”

“Hopefully we can get the ball into his hands, particularly kicking inside 50 or setting up a goal or two.”
