“HOW is the physics of that?!”
Harry McKay’s miracle snap has received a nomination for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year for Round 22.
With Carlton leading by three points over St Kilda as the clock ticked under five minutes, the 21-year-old rose to the occasion at the home of footy.
Collecting the footy in one foul swoop, McKay took three steps, had a quick glance at the goal before sending his left-footed snap goal wards from the 50-metre arc.
You've seen the goal by now.

Here's the story from the man himself.#BoundByBlue
Cue pandemonium at the MCG.
While McKay admitted to having some troubles with the set shot in recent weeks, the match-winning snap had Carlton players, fans and coaches (namely, David Teague) in raptures.
It was the kind of goal which immediately drew comparisons to Lance Franklin, and had another former Hawthorn champion forward - Dermott Brereton - proclaiming it as his pick for goal of the year.
Now, it’s your time to vote.
McKay becomes the sixth Blue to be nominated for the award this year, after Mitch McGovern (Round 3), David Cuningham (Round 6), Patrick Cripps (Round 12), Marc Murphy (Round 15) and Sam Walsh (Round 20).
