THE Northern Blues have named their squad for today’s clash against Collingwood.
Northern’s second practice match of 2019, which begins at 2pm from Olympic Park Oval, sees the Blues welcome some new faces and welcome back last year’s leading goalkicker.
Jesse Palmer will play his first match for the campaign, joining some key young Carlton-listed talent in the match against the Magpies.
Eight AFL-listed players have been named, including Tom De Koning, Lochie O’Brien, Finbar O’Dwyer and Ben Silvagni. The young quartet all featured for Northern last weekend.
De Koning was particularly impressive against Port Melbourne last Thursday, putting in a strong shift in the ruck while also impressing around the ground.
They’ll be joined by Hugh Goddard, as well as inclusions Matthew Lobbe, Angus Schumacher and Jack Silvagni.
Tom Wilson won’t play against the Pies, while Matthew Kennedy will also miss after receiving a knock to his shoulder against Port Melbourne. Tenacious midfield youngster Jordan Lynch will replace them in the middle of the ground.
The other inclusions into the squad are James El Moussali and Seb Williams, who will run out in the Northern Blues jumper for the first time.
Today’s game is free entry for all supporters.
