OVERVIEW
While Carlton’s No.29 struggled to break into the senior side in 2019, the young Blue continued his development for the Northern Blues.
Polson was given his opportunities at senior level early in the season, playing three AFL games — including the Blues’ victory over the Bulldogs in Round 5.
While the remainder of his 2019 campaign was spent in the VFL, Polson continued to refine his craft for Northern, spending time in the midfield and up forward.
Averaging 11 disposals (five contested) and booting nine goals for Northern over 13 matches, Polson showed signs of his energy around the contest.
BEST PERFORMANCE
Polson was integral in the Northern Blues’ resounding victory over North Melbourne in Round 17 of the VFL at Arden Street.
The young forward was key in Northern finishing 75-point winners, slotting two classy majors of his own early in the contest.
The third-year Blue was influential across the ground, collecting 13 disposals and providing some dash going forward.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
It was a moment of class for the No.29 when Carlton faced Port Adelaide in Round 2.
The Blues trailed the Power by just one point late in the third quarter at Adelaide Oval when a crafty snap from Polson gave them a big chance heading into the final term.
In his first game for the year, it was a sign of how sharp and dangerous Polson could be in front of goal.
THEY SAID IT
VFL senior coach Josh Fraser was complimentary of Polson following the Northern Blues’ Round 6 win over Frankston.
“‘Pols’ started really well, he kicked a beautiful goal and was really lively,” Fraser said.
“His impact throughout the game was strong: he needs to make sure we can continually split his time between midfield and forward, so we can utilise his energy around the ball.”
