HUGH Goddard will become Carlton player No.1207 on Saturday.
The 22-year-old was informed in front of the playing group on Thursday that he would be selected for the Round 17 trip to the SCG.
Recruited by Carlton in last November’s rookie draft, Goddard - who played 10 games for St Kilda over four seasons - has been rewarded for his standout form at VFL level.
“He’s got a great ability to read the ball in the air, identify where his opponent is and then affect that aerial contest.”

Goddard has taken more marks than anyone else in the competition, playing a leading role in Northern’s back six and captaining the side in recent weeks.
Averaging 16 disposals and eight marks in the VFL, it’s been a long time coming for Goddard: he’s been named in the Northern Blues’ best players for eight of his 11 games.
A former first-round draft pick at the Saints, Goddard will now pull on the Navy Blue for the first time this Saturday at 1:45 from the SCG.
