THE form of Sam Petrevski-Seton has caught the eye of Brendon Bolton this summer.

Heading into his third season at Ikon Park, Petrevski-Seton enters 2019 with 42 games under his belt and the chance to own the future with a number of his younger teammates.

Speaking to AFL.com.au, Bolton said the pre-season showing from the ‘Halls Creek Cowboy’ was cause for optimism heading into the upcoming year.

“I don’t like to individualise, there’s a few [I’m excited to see develop],” Bolton said.

“I think Sam Petrevski-Seton has had a really strong pre-season this year. Early signs are he is winning a lot of ball around the centre of the oval and he uses it so well.

“I think many Bluebaggers should be excited about Samo this year.”

One player who Bolton envisaged would make an impact at his new club is Nic Newman, who arrived at Ikon Park from Sydney.

The senior coach said Newman would add a lot of value to the side’s defensive stocks.

“We’re really fortunate to have Nic on our side,” he said.

“He’s got a booming left foot and he’s defending really strongly in the contest, he’s working really hard against his opponent one-on-one.

“He should be a mainstay for us this year.”

Bolton also shed some light on Carlton’s ruck dynamic heading into 2019, as well as the forward line set-up involving Charlie Curnow, Harry McKay and Mitch McGovern.
