INTERIM coach David Teague believes his players are feeding off the energy and support from the fans.

Carlton is preparing to go up against Adelaide in a high-stakes encounter at the MCG tomorrow afternoon: a team Teague knows all too well.

Speaking at his weekly media conference at Ikon Park, Teague said his side couldn’t wait to play in front of a capacity crowd once again.

“I’m definitely feeling that the supporters are getting right behind the players at the moment,” Teague said.

“The players are turning up with really good energy, their intensity at training has been outstanding.

“The supporters have really got on board and behind the guys.”

Averaging just shy of 70,000 at his MCG home crowds so far in 2019, a crowd of over 40,000 is expected when the Crows come to town tomorrow.

“We’ve had good crowds and we’re looking forward to another really good crowd this weekend,” he said.

“The boys love it when the [fans] get there: they’ve been great for us.”

As the Blues look for three wins in a row, Teague said the approach wouldn’t change as the 2019 season approaches its final month.

On the whole, Teague said the coaching staff would continue to back in its players and the strengths they bring to the table.

“Personally and as a coaching group, we believed in the talent we’ve got at this football club,” he said.

“It was about executing that and bringing their strengths to the table. They’re doing that now.

“What we do know is we go out every week to play to win.”

One player who won’t be out there in Navy Blue is Matthew Kreuzer, with Teague saying the veteran had been “getting sorer” over recent weeks.

Highlighting that the injury wasn’t anything major, the coach expected Kreuzer to be available for selection the following week against West Coast.
