When Zac Fisher chests the banner in game No.50 on Saturday afternoon, he joins a coveted corps of former Carlton 50-gamers, amongst them the current caretaker coach David Teague.
That the SCG provides the backdrop for Fisher’s milestone match is pertinent, for so it did for Teague in the final home and away round of 2006, when the latter fronted for his 50th and last match at senior level in Dark Navy.
On that occasion, Trent Sporn and Cory McGrath also completed their 50th and final Carlton appearances, while Adrian DeLuca and Barnaby French hung them up after 46 and 71 senior games respectively.
French, who told teammates of his decision to hang them up at the three quarter-time huddle, fittingly booted the Blues’ last goal of the match. Not that it particularly mattered, as the visitors found themselves on the receiving end of a 92-point hammering - which overtook the previous record winning margin of 78 set four years previous when the two teams met in the second round of the 2002 season at Princes Park.

Contributing statistician Stephen Williamson advises that Fisher will become Carlton’s 329th member of Club 50, achieving the milestone at the age of 21 years and 27 days.
The youngest to 50 was Robert Walls at 19 years and 98 days and the oldest Jim Flynn at 35 years and 101 days.
