Four Carlton players have been named in the 40-man squad that is in contention for selection for the 2011 All-Australian Team.

Chris Judd, Marc Murphy, Eddie Betts and Heath Scotland are the four Carlton players named in the 40-man squad.

Judd is a five-time All-Australian, having been selected in 2004, 2006, 2008 (captain), 2009 and 2010.

The three other Carlton players are in line for All-Australian selection for the first time, all having played 22 matches during the year. Betts has kicked 45 goals, Murphy had 639 disposals, the fourth highest in the AFL for 2011 and Scotland had 573 disposal and the fourth most marks for the season.

The All Australian selection panel finalised the 40-man squad today. The selectors were not required to nominate leading players in each section of the field - forwards, defenders and midfielders/ruckman - but simply to name the best players of the season.

The All Australian team will be announced on Monday September 19. The final team of 22 will be selected to best fit team balance as if to play a match.
