THE CARLTON Football Club can confirm a further four changes to its AFLW playing list following the conclusion of its 2024 season, with Taylor Ortlepp, Lulu Beatty, Jade Halfpenny and Gen Lawson-Tavan departing the Club.

A cross-code athlete, Ortlepp joined the Blues in 2022, having represented Australia at the under-16 level as well as the Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL.

Ortlepp made her debut in Round 6 of season seven against GWS, going on to feature in 13 games across her three seasons at the Blues.

Drafted from Carlton’s VFLW side in 2023 having previously co-captained the Northern Knights, Beatty was sidelined through injury in her first season.

She made her debut in the first match of the 2024 season against Hawthorn, ultimately playing four games for the Blues.

Lawson-Tavan was picked up by Carlton in 2023 as an injury replacement player after Maddy Guerin was placed on the inactive list for the 2023 season.

The 28-year-old featured in 18 matches across her two seasons in the Navy Blue.

After spending time at Port Adelaide, Halfpenny was recruited to the Blues as an injury replacement player, after Erone Fitzpatrick was made inactive for the 2024 season.

Halfpenny played two matches for the Blues, making her Club debut in Week 9 against Collingwood.

“Taylor, Gen, Jade and Lulu have made meaningful contributions throughout their time at the Blues and are well respected by staff and players alike," Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said.

“We thank them for the hard work and dedication they showed to our program, and we wish them all the best in their next step."
