YOUNG up-and-comers Dane Harvey, Flynn Riley and Aiden Mills have all re-committed to the Carlton Reserves for 2025.

Mills is the most experienced of the group with 11 senior VFL games to his name. He featured two matches this season, after an ankle injury kept him sidelined for the majority of 2024.

A versatile player, Mills has played a number of Luke Power’s side down back and in the midfield since his debut in 2023, kicking two goals in just his third game for the Blues.

Featuring in three matches for the Blues in the 2024 season, Harvey is a talented tall forward who broke through for his VFL debut after great form for Fitzroy in the VAFA.

Debuting against Williamstown where he kicked a goal in his first game, Harvey injects an energetic presence in the team, working hard to get up the ground and provide a link between the mids and forward line.

Yet to debut for the Carlton Reserves, Riley was on the Blues’ list in 2024 after arriving from the Northern Knights.

A 206-centimetre ruckman, the 20-year-old is an emerging youngster who has coupled his development at the VFL Blues with his football at Montmorency in the NFNL, making a Grand Final in 2024.

VFL Senior Coach Luke Power said he was delighted another three youngsters had signed on to remain at IKON Park.

“Aiden, Dane and Flynn have all shown great growth across the past year and we’re delighted to have them recommit with the Club,” Power said.

“They are still at the beginning of their football journeys, but they have shown a great appetite and willingness to develop their craft: they’re great young people to have in our program.”
