KEELEY Sherar has topped the Week 7 coaches’ votes, scoring a perfect 10 votes.
Five Blues shared the votes following the four-point win over Fremantle on Saturday, with Sherar now the highest-ranked Carlton player in the AFL Coaches Association's AFLW champion player of the year rankings, accumulating a total of 28 votes so far.
Sherar was instrumental in the Blues’ win on the weekend, notching 17 disposals and 11 tackles – one short of her career-best – to go along with her game-winning goal in the dying minutes.
Sherar was supported in the midfield by Maddy Guerin (three votes), who had a game-high 24 disposals, eight tackles and six clearances.
Guerin and Carlton skipper Kerryn Peterson (one vote), who made her return following a shoulder injury, topped the metres gained for the game combining for a massive 834 metres.
Defender Harriet Cordner (two votes) was instrumental in the backline, intercepting the ball nine times to go with her five tackles.
Keeley Skepper rounded out the Blues’ votes following her two-goal haul that was instrumental in boosting the Carlton energy in the opening quarter.
