THAT WAS certainly one way to mark your arrival into the Carlton forward line.
Or, should we say, two ways.
Ashton Moir and Brodie Kemp have respectively received an AFL Goal and Mark of the Year nomination for their efforts in the final term of the win over West Coast.
Few have marked their arrival in the AFL competition in a more stylish manner than Moir, who - in his first quarter of football after being subbed out - volleyed Patrick Cripps’ pass out of midair with his back to goal for a memorable opening goal for Carlton.
The look on the debutant’s face - and those of his teammates - said it all.
Just five minutes later, Kemp had Carlton fans out of their seats once again in what was a career-best performance from the defender who swung into attack against the Eagles.
Leaping over West Coast’s Alex Witherden, Kemp’s attack on the football was a feature all day as he hauled in a high-flying grab before slotting his fourth of the day.
