A SHOT at glory is in the offing for Darcy Vescio and Carlton this Sunday.
And the star forward admitted that her and her teammates are “pinching ourselves” after cementing a Grand Final berth on the weekend.
Vescio had nine disposals and kicked an important goal before half-time as Carlton romped to a 36-point preliminary final win.
Speaking to Triple M’s Hot Breakfast, Vescio said they were “awesome” scenes at Ikon Park on Saturday.
“It’s a pretty unbelievable feeling,” Vescio said.
“After the game, we were pinching ourselves and couldn’t believe that we’ve got a shot at the big one. Obviously it’s going to be hard playing over there.”
In previous weeks, talk had centred around the conference system in the AFLW competition: Vescio said that come finals time, in-season form was put on the back-burner.
“It doesn’t really matter what the season looks like when finals come along,” she said.
“It’s all about what happens on the day.”
All aboard to Adelaide!

The details for next Sunday's decider have been locked in.#BoundByBlue
Carlton’s hosts have been in ominous form all season, marked by yesterday’s 66-point win against Geelong.
Vescio said the test Adelaide was one the Blues wouldn’t underestimate, especially with its co-captain leading the way.
“I’m a big Erin Phillips fan,” she said.
“I think that’s what it looks like when someone has been an elite athlete for so long — she is able to do things that others aren’t.
“She’s been great for the game, she’ll be hard to stop. We’ll try to quell her influence.”
