CARLTON has made two changes for its Round 17 clash with GWS.
After being a late withdrawal last weekend against Richmond, Tom De Koning has been named to return for the big away clash with the Giants.
The ruckman was in career-best form in the month leading up to the win over the Tigers, and he’ll be looking to recapture that in a big head-to-head battle with Kieren Briggs.
De Koning will also have his close mate alongside him, with Matthew Cottrell to play his first game since Round 9.
The hard-running forward was playing a crucial role in the first half of the season for the Blues, before a foot injury sidelined him following the narrow win over Melbourne.
After getting through training in recent weeks, Cottrell has been named on the bench alongside Alex Cincotta, Lachie Cowan, Orazio Fantasia and Matthew Owies, with the sub to be announced an hour before the bounce.
In further positive news for the Blues, Matthew Kennedy has been named after the knee injury which saw him come from the ground in the last quarter against Richmond.
Coming out of the side are last week’s sub George Hewett and Marc Pittonet (both omitted).
