THE CARLTON Football Club is ready to kick off another AFLW season after the 2024 AFLW fixture was launched today.

Carlton fans around Australia will have a mix of opportunities to come and support the team they love, with Carlton playing across four different days and six locations, including three interstate trips.

Members and fans will also reap the benefits from a variety of time slots, with four day games, five night games and one twilight match.

All Carlton home games will once again be held at the Club’s home - and home of women’s football - IKON Park, providing an intersection of accessibility, atmosphere, tradition, nostalgia and contemporary entertainment like no other.

The Blues will kick off the AFLW season with two Sunday away games, taking on Hawthorn in Round 1 at Kinetic Stadium (Frankston), broadcasted live on Channel 7, before making the trip to Mackay to face the Gold Coast Suns.

Carlton will then head into a string of three consecutive home games at IKON Park in Rounds 3, 4 and 5.

It kicks off when the Blues and Cats go head-to-head for the first time since 2022, before then hosting Richmond on a Thursday night.

The Blues will back that up by launching into Wednesday night ‘Mid-Week Footy’, a new feature for the competition in 2024, against Grand Finalists North Melbourne. Mid-Week Footy will see the fixture extended to 11 games for the first time in the competition’s history.

Round 7 will see the Blues once again celebrate inclusion, diversity, and respect, taking on the Dockers in the competition’s annual Pride Round.

Traditional rivalry and a celebration of Indigenous culture will go hand-in-hand as Carlton takes on Collingwood and Essendon in the competition’s Indigenous Rounds to be held over Rounds 9 and 10.

It’ll be a series of firsts for the Blues, taking on the old enemy at Victoria Park for the first time before hosting the arch rival on Royal Parade after two away games since the Bombers’ entry into the competition.

A feature on the calendar, the Carlton AFLW Carlton Respects Game, is one of note, with the time and date still to be confirmed.

Carlton CEO Brian Cook said the diverse fixture provides fans with a range of opportunities to come and support the Blues.

“I am pleased to say, that again, we will play every home game at IKON Park, including an additional away game. We are proud to play at our traditional home, and our players do not take this for granted,” Cook said.

“As we saw last year our AFLW program underwent a period of transformation, and we have laid a great foundation: now it is about building up our players in the elite environment provided.

“Not only an elite environment for our athletes, but a great facility for our supporters to enjoy. The atmosphere and accessibility of AFLW matches at IKON Park provides an enjoyable and welcoming experience for many of our supporters.

“We are excited to journey alongside our members and fans this year and cannot wait for it to all kick off in September.”
