BATMAN and Robin have done it again.

For the second straight game at Marvel Stadium, Carlton’s Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh have taken home the lion’s share of coaches’ votes.

It comes as no surprise that Cripps, who has once again entered the top 10 of the award, received the maximum amount of votes for a true captain’s performance.

Going head to head with young gun Matt Rowell, Cripps was unstoppable at the source, registering 13 clearances for the ninth time in his career during a performance which also yielded 31 disposals, six tackles and a crucial final-quarter goal.

His great mate Walsh wasn’t far behind him with eight votes — it was the exact same one-two (Cripps 10, Walsh 8) the last time the Blues played at Marvel Stadium against the Giants in Round 6.

Walsh motored to 32 disposals and a game-high 517 metres gained for the afternoon, having now polled coaches’ votes in six of his seven games for the season.

They received brilliant use out of the middle from Tom De Koning (four votes), who embraced the sole ruck responsibility with a career-high 25 disposals and 10 clearances against Gold Coast co-captain Jarrod Witts.

His four votes were matched by Charlie Curnow, whose titanic tussle with Mac Andrew was demonstrated by both forward and defender receiving votes on the day.

After being well held in the first half, Curnow was the spark for the Blues in the second half, ending the day with four goals, while his 12 score involvements was the equal-most of anyone in the competition on the weekend.

Rounding out the votes was Zac Williams, who kicked a career-high four goals in a new role up forward. Wearing the guernsey designed by his cousin Stewart James, it was Williams’ first helping of coaches’ votes for the season.
