THREE changes.
Carlton will welcome Box Hill in their Round 10 clash at IKON Park in what will be a challenging match.
We are quickly approaching the last month of the home and away season and with the Blues slowly slipping out of finals contention, they will want to leave everything out on the field to break into the top six.
The Blues are heading into this game with some positives with their tackling ability and accuracy on goal not being issues at the moment. Over the past two games, the Blues have pegged back a significant deficit to nearly single digits, but have let it slip within the dying minutes.
Now having experience in these moments, the experienced heads will step up to the occasion and push everyone forward to get the win. Co-Captain Eliza Wood has been a stand-out player over the last few rounds, with her elite tackling and effort in and around the midfield on full display.
Two workhorses that have gone under the radar are Isla Baldwin and Hannah Scott. Both players have been carving up the midfield this season racking up 20+ disposals on average a game.
They connect the defensive and attack lines effectively and are able to clear out the contest to find a free player on the field. The midfielders will need to bring the heat this week against an impressive Hawks side.
Jemma Stokes returns to the side this week after sitting out last round. This shifts Emily Hurley back up into the forward line to continue kicking clutch goals for the Blues. They have both been strong rucks this season, so the home side will be spoilt for choices come game time.
Carlton will have two debutants in Heidelberg’s Bella Caminiti and Mount Evelyn's Amelie Moore.
Under 19s player Caminiti will wear the Navy Blue in what will be her inaugural game for the Club and the VFLW. The defender is a member of the Northern Knights in the Coates Talent League who are currently sitting third on the ladder.
Moore will also enter the game-day squad for the first time after being named as an emergency in Round 8. The 18-year-old has been playing for the Eastern Rangers who have found similar success as the Knights this year.
The familiar faces in Danika Di Santo, Mia Haas, and Maddi Katerelos have been named as the emergencies.
Carlton will host Box Hill at IKON Park on Saturday 25 May, kicking off at 2pm (AEST).
