A TRIO of Blues caught the coaches' eyes in the Round 8 clash with Collingwood. 

In what was a close loss against the old enemy, Harry McKay polled four votes for a comprehensive performance in the forward half. 

Slotting three goals in the first term to kickstart momentum, McKay went on to contribute seven marks, seven contested possessions as well as a crucial third-quarter goal, finishing with a game-high four goals. 

McKay now sits 14th on the AFLCA leaderboard, finding himself on equal votes with skipper Patrick Cripps (27).

Sam Walsh also received four votes, where the 23-year-old put on another strong performance, as he has done consistently since his return from injury. 

Walsh gathered a game-high 33 disposals, along with 14 contested possessions and eight clearances in what was a tough and physical battle through the midfield. 

This is the third game in a row that Walsh has polled votes since his return to the lineup in Round 6.

Nic Newman rounds out the votes with another four, as the defender stood strong in the backline and finished with 32 disposals. 

Newman contributed nine intercept possessions, seven contested possessions and six tackles against non-stop forward entries for the Pies.
