SEVERAL changes this week.

The Blues have gone for a younger-looking side this week with seven changes as multiple experienced heads will be absent in Saturday’s game.

A lot of AFLW experience has been lost for this week's match-up against Geelong, but the youthful-looking Carlton side will come into this encounter fearless and up for the challenge.

These two sides met each other in Round 1 of the season at GMHBA Stadium where the Blues overcame a fast-starting Cats to come out 31-point victors. Sophie McCarthy and Georgia Tait kicked two goals each against the Cats and will want to produce another influential performance.

Evie Lee has earned her first call-up, ready to debut for the Blues after being named as an emergency in Round 3 and 6. This will be the 18-year-old’s first hit out for the Blues and in the VFLW.

Northern Knights products Zoe Hargreaves (Fitzroy), Holly Ridewood (Heidelberg) and Hannah Scott (Montmorency) will line up in the Navy Blue this week. The Coates Talent League players will make their VFLW and Carlton debuts amongst other young talent in the squad.

Ridewood is the current under-18 girls' captain for the Knights, who are currently sitting at the top of the ladder for the 2024 season after four games. Rewarded for her ethics in her 2022 season with her local club Heidelberg, Ridewood was named Player of the Finals and came third in the under-16 Best and fairest count.

The Vic Metro representative in Hargreaves will join Knights teammate Scott in the squad. Scott competes in softball at a state and international level, recently travelling to Canada as part of the Australia under-19s side for the International Canada Cup.

Some other inclusions into this week's squad are the returns of Danika Di Santo, Georgia Tait and Asha Turner-Funk.

Last week’s debutants in Amy Trindale and Katie Prendergast have been named again for Round 7 after impressive performances in the 18-point loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Natasha Phipps, Mia Haas and Madeleine Katerelos have been named as the emergencies for this week.

Carlton will host Geelong at IKON Park on Saturday, ready for the first bounce at 12pm (AEST).
