Carlton President Stephen Kernahan officially launched the sensational new Carlton publication, "Out of the Blue" at the President's lunchoen prior to Carlton's match against Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The 250-page coffee table publication provides the stories behind the stories for many of the defining moments of the Carlton Football Club. Author Tony De Bolfo was on hand at the luncheon to see the President officially launch what has been a big commmitment for Tony over the last 12 months. "A labour of love," is how De Bolfo described the hours of research and writing that went into producing this wonderful publication.

If the reaction by guests at the luncheon on Saturday is an indication, the book is sure to be a big hit with Carlton supporters and with a strictly limited print run it is expected to be a sell out. Sales through The Carlton Shop and online at carltonfc.com.au have been excellent and the only other outlet for sales is the Herald Sun Shop at Southbank and they have reported good sales in the first two days of the publication being available.

There are certainly some great stories that have never been told before and no doubt there will be some great discussions as to what really was the most defining moment in Carlton's great history. This book will enable all Carlton supporters to have a greater understanding of what was behind many of the great moments and perhaps then be in a better position to make a judgement on what really is our most defining moment.

A copy publication was presented to Deputy Prime Minister The Hon Julia Gillard who was a special guest at the luncheon

Out of the Blue – defining moments of the Carlton Football Club records the glorious tales that have made the Carlton Football Club great.

The book is available in-store at The Carlton Shop for $49.95 or online for $59.95, including postage & handling.

The game, which took place at Optus Oval on the afternoon of Sunday, April 13, 1997, is the subject of the following extract from the newly-released coffee table book Out of the Blue - defining moments of the Carlton Football Club - which was launched at the weekend by club President Stephen Kernahan, himself a Croweater.
