DEFENSIVE stocks bolstered.
Reigning John Nicholls Medallist Jacob Weitering will play his first game of the 2024 season tomorrow afternoon when Carlton takes on North Melbourne.
The key defender was confirmed to be available for selection earlier in the week after a pre-season calf injury, and he's joined in the AFL side by the returning Caleb Marchbank, who has impressed in a strong training block after illness.
They're joined as the three additions in the side by Elijah Hollands, with the announcement of his Navy Blue debut coming in Wednesday's training session courtesy of younger brother Ollie.
The trio replace Brodie Kemp, Lewis Young and David Cuningham in the selected side.
Following the Club’s main training session on Wednesday, both Cuningham (calf) and Jesse Motlop (hamstring) were ruled out of selection. Kemp and Young have both been omitted.
The Blues' sub will come from their five-man bench, out of Jordan Boyd, Jack Carroll, Matthew Cottrell, Round 1 sub Corey Durdin and Orazio Fantasia.
