CARLTON stalwart Marc Murphy believes the success of the last two months is something Bluebaggers can get used to.
Murphy has played an integral role in the Blues’ purple patch after his return from fractured ribs midway through the season.
Speaking on this week’s edition of The Two Tones, Murphy discussed what he believes will be a period of sustained success.
“It’s been a really good feeling the last eight weeks,” Murphy said.
“Winning games of football has been a bit foreign to us of late, so it’s been nice to get in that circle and sing the song and have a bit of a laugh after games with the boys.”
The Blues’ five wins in the back half of the season are a result of continuity and reward for effort for the playing group, according to Murphy.
The veteran is confident Carlton is coming to the end of it’s growth period – and he would know, having played 266 games in Navy Blue.
“This year we probably haven’t had a settled side all year unfortunately, but we’re certainly starting to find our feet now,” he said.
“The importance of just getting continuity into some of our guys and starting to see some fruition of our hard work.”
“He's one of those players where if you get the ball in his hands, the game almost stops a little bit.”

The potential his young teammates have been vindication for Murphy, who cited the Club’s exciting future as the main reason behind his re-signing last season.
“Guys are really enjoying what they’re doing and that’s why I signed on last year,” he said.
“Obviously I love the place and couldn’t see myself leaving, but I really believed that we could bounce pretty quick.”
The Blues’ period of success has coincided to a return to the midfield for the ex-skipper, who spent the beginning of his season primarily on the wing.
Slotting back into the midfield group alongside Patrick Cripps and Matthew Kreuzer has been a seamless transition for the experienced Blue.
“It’s nice to be back in the middle and working back in there with ‘Kreuz’, ‘Crippa’ and Ed,” he said.
“I was playing probably majority wing previously, last year and obviously the first half of this year: I certainly haven’t lost the ability to play in the midfield.”
