On the field, Mitch Robinson is fearless. He's known for his hard–hitting tackles, determination and being hard at the ball.
But off the field, Robinson has a bubbly personality, quirky fashion sense, and is never too far from his favourite set of headphones.
We caught up with Robinson and put him On The Spot.
Who was your favourite AFL player growing up and why?
Daryn Cresswell who played for the Sydney Swans. Being a fellow Tassie boy, my parents used to babysit him when he was very young.
If you weren't playing AFL what would you be doing?
I'd probably be an electrician. My dad is a sparkie, so I'd be following in his footsteps.
What music are you listening to on your iPod?
A lot of R&B and hip-hop – mostly Frank Ocean and Jay Z. I don't mind a bit of country too.
Favourite Movie?
Step Brothers. It's really funny and I love Will Ferrell.
If you had to cook to impress someone, what would you cook?
I'm amazing at pasta … but I also make a mean parmigiana so I'd probably cook that. I can also whip-up a great Mexican wrap!
Number one fashion tip?
Your hat and shoes should always be matching.
Favourite place to visit on holiday?
I've been to Mexico, Las Vegas and Hong Kong … so I'd have to say Tasmania!
What's the best advice you've been given?
My dad always told me to play the game you like to watch. I guess you could say I took his advice.
If you were to give advice to any budding young footballer who dreams of playing AFL, what would it be?
Work hard – and always be professional.
