CARLTON forward Keeley Skepper has been named an AFLW Rising Star nominee for her sensational performance in the Round 3 clash with the West Coast Eagles.
In Carlton’s first interstate match this season, Skepper was a standout picking up 23 disposals, three goals, while also having seven score involvements.
It is Skepper’s second AFLW Rising Star nomination in her career, having also been nominated last year in Round 4: this year marks the first year where players who have received past nominations can feature again.
Skepper was also named Carlton’s Rookie of the Year in season seven.
Hailing from Wodonga, the versatile youngster has developed into a powerful prospect which saw her drafted to the Blues in the first round of the 2022 AFL Women’s Draft.
Skepper never fails to put her body on the line and lives the team’s mantra of pressure and contest. At just 19 years of age, Blues fans have only seen a small portion of what Skepper is capable of.
The Blues’ Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said it is well-deserved recognition for Skepper’s hard work.
“To be recognised twice for this award is a testament to Keeley and the hard work and dedication she puts in each week,” said Naulty.
“Both on and off the field, Keeley is a ball of energy and is loved by her teammates.
“She has such a passion and love for football that is so infectious to those around her.
“We are all so proud of what Keeley has achieved in her short career and are so excited for what is to come.”
