CARLTON vice-captain Patrick Cripps has polled a career-best 20 votes to finish fourth in the 2018 Brownlow Medal count.
The 23-year-old eclipsed his previous best of 18 votes set in 2016, finishing behind Melbourne's Angus Brayshaw (21), Collingwood's Steele Sidebottom (24) and runaway winner Tom Mitchell (28).
One of two Blues to play every game this season, the newly crowned All Australian polled in 10 games, including three-vote performances in the wins over Essendon and Gold Coast.
Cripps also became the first Carlton player since Chris Judd in 2011 to break the 20-mark in a single season.

Kade Simpson was Carlton's next best, proving age was once again no barrier.
The 34-year-old became the first player since Adelaide's Tyson Edwards in 2009 to poll three votes in his 300th game, while another best-on-ground performance in the Round 22 loss to the Western Bulldogs saw him finish on six votes.
Ed Curnow (four), Charlie Curnow (three), Marc Murphy (two), Matthew Kreuzer and Sam Petrevski-Seton (one) rounded out Carlton's votes.
