CARLTON midfielder Maddy Guerin has been placed on the inactive list for the upcoming 2023 AFLW season.

Guerin is continuing her rehabilitation after experiencing a second ACL rupture in her knee late last year, with her current recovery timeline meaning she will be unavailable to play this season.

A decision was therefore made to place Guerin on the Club’s inactive list, with the Blues to now have a list spot available to fill ahead of the start of their season on 2 September.

“We will continue to support Maddy every step of the way through her recovery,” Carlton Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said.

“She will continue to remain part of the program as she works through her rehabilitation, and we look forward to her being back playing alongside her teammates.

“We will now work through the best approach to add to our playing list, as our preparations continue ahead of the 2023 season.”

The Blues will have their first hit-out of the campaign in a match simulation with Melbourne next Saturday 12 August at 12pm at IKON Park.
