DON’T expect this week’s milestone man to get involved in any 150th histrionics.
George Hewett is a no-fuss, no-nonsense kind of guy. Always has been, probably always will be.
He was like that in his 120 games with Sydney, has been in his 29 games for Carlton and will take that same approach into his 150th career game on Friday night.
In front of over 85,000 people, no less.
Not that it’ll affect Hewett to any great extent. He loves playing footy, but doesn’t engage with too much with the hype away from game day.

“We live pretty quietly. I have a young family, I don’t have social media. What you want to indulge in is what you indulge in,” Hewett told SEN’s Crunch Time on Sunday.
“It can be a dangerous where you want to pick up something to read if you’re doing well, but when you’re not doing well, you don’t.
“You know what’s out there, but the more you can focus on what’s going on inside your club, that gives you the best chance of getting out of the rut.”
Take Hewett’s Sunday afternoon, for example.
The Blues had just won their fifth straight game the week before, with his milestone game five days away against the old enemy.
So how did he spend it?
“We took the little one for some shopping and went to the pub for a roast. If it’s not raining, we’ll take Henry to a bike track — hopefully wear him out.”
As for the footy side of things, Hewett is happy to be back in the middle.
He stepped up on the weekend in the absence of some regular names, having missed regular football through injury as well as starting as sub on a number of occasions.
However, opportunity has knocked following Matthew Kennedy’s knee injury, and Hewett has typically taken it with both hands.
“I had a few mishaps, but everybody has them. It’s the challenge to overcome them and come back better. That’s been the plan.
“Hopefully I’ll finish the season with some strong form, we keep winning and see where that takes us.”
