Carlton midfielder Dennis Armfield says he has no regrets about switching codes, and would like to stay a Blues man for life.

On 3AW, Armfield has revealed he played rugby until the age of 17, only taking up AFL when his dad could no longer take him to rugby training.

The 26-year-old has signed a new two-year contract with Carlton, keeping him at the Club until at least the end of 2015.

The Blues face Greater Western Sydney at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, and Armfield says they won’t be taking the Giants lightly.

“GWS are coming of a big loss and will be definitely hungry. They’ve got some really good young players, the likes of Scully and Cameron up forward, so we can’t take our foot off it.”

“We’ve got to knuckle down and make sure we get this win.”
