Judd trains strongly
Carlton skipper Chris Judd has shrugged off concern over his shoulder, completing a series of training runs on Friday
The Blues announced on Thursday that the star midfielder would have "minor" surgery on his damaged right shoulder early next week and be out of full training until January.
But the sore shoulder didn't prevent Judd from joining teammate Ed Curnow in a series of sprints around the boundary line, ranging in distance up to 400m.
Wearing a t-shirt that made it unclear whether or not he had the shoulder strapped, the two-time Brownlow medallist ran without apparent discomfort.
Judd had scans on the shoulder Wednesday after experiencing pain during training.
"Chris will have a minor procedure on his shoulder early next week," Blues general manager of football operations Andrew McKay announced on Thursday after the scans were reviewed.
"At this time of the year it is best to ensure he begins 2012 in peak condition and being a shoulder injury he will be able to maintain his fitness before resuming full training in January.
"Thankfully this injury will have no impact on his 2012 season."
Earlier on Thursday, a website part-owned by Judd's manager, Paul Connors, reported that the skipper needed a full reconstruction and could miss up to four months.
